Core EFT Training

Externship in EFT

Your journey to EFT certification begins with our four day Externship program. During this course, you will explore the theoretical and research basis of the EFT model. In line with the model's origins, the focus of the Externship is predominantly on relationships, but there is also discussion of EFT with families and individuals.

The Externship includes practical exercises, video demonstrations and where possible, a live session to demonstrate the EFT process in action.

Core Skills A

EFT Core Skills workshops revise and deepen therapists' understanding of the EFT model and the interventions used to achieve the three change events identified by process research that move relationships from insecurity to security.

Core Skills A focuses on refining specific interventions that aim to stabilise distressed relationships in Stage 1 of the EFT model, as well as including case presentations, video demonstrations, experiential exercises and providing practical resources.

Core Skills B

EFT Core Skills workshops are advanced level workshops that develop and refine the therapist's acquisition of the EFT interventions that are used to achieve the three change events identified by process research that move relationships from insecurity to security.

Core Skills B focuses on refining specific interventions for Stage 2 (restructuring the attachment bond) and Stage 3 (consolidation) of the EFT model, as well as case presentations, video demonstrations, experiential exercises and providing practical resources.

Scholarship Opportunities at ACEFT

Diversity, Equity & Mentoring Scholarships

EFT trainer Clare Rosoman is dedicated to making EFT accessible for all therapists and for all human relationships. She is committed to embracing diversity in the EFT community and expanding the reach of EFT into under-served or marginalised groups, especially in Australia. In line with this commitment, Clare offers several reduced-rate and scholarship options to make training in EFT accessible for therapists who might encounter barriers in accessing EFT training and for those providing EFT to under-served groups.

  1. 100% Diversity & Equity Scholarships: Clare offers one no-fee place per core training event (Externship in EFT, Core Skills A and Core Skills B) for therapists who have a lived-experience of marginalisation and who have found the cost or other factors to be a barrier to accessing EFT training. Applications are welcomed from therapists who meet this criteria and priority will be given to those who work with clients from marginalised groups in Australia.
  2. 50% Mentoring Scholarships: Clare also offers 1-2 places per core training (Externship in EFT, Core Skills A and Core Skills B) as a partial scholarship for those who are passionate about bringing EFT to under-served or marginalised groups in the Australian EFT community. These scholarship places include a 50% fee-reduction on the registration fee for the training event. Clare sees this as her way of supporting and mentoring therapists who are keen to expand the reach of EFT into under-served groups and communities in Australia.
  3. Students & those in financial hardship: students enrolled in a course of study in the field of mental health such as psychology, counselling, social work etc. can apply for a student discount upon proof of enrollment. Those in financial hardship can also apply for a fee reduction but these applications are taken on a case-by-case basis and depend on numbers of scholarships/mentoring places already being given at each training event.

Currently, all Diversity & Equity and Mentoring Scholarship places for 2022 and 2023 have been allocated.
