B Psych (Hons) D Psych (Clinical) MAPS FCCLP

Clinical Psychologist & Founding Co-Director of ACEFT

Certified EFT Therapist, Supervisor and Trainer with the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally-Focused Therapy (ICEEFT)- Ottawa Canada

Clare is a clinical psychologist with over 20 years experience in assisting people to overcome struggles and live more fully. While experienced with anxiety, depression, trauma, issues of adolescence and parenting concerns, her passion is relationships and families. She is the author of two books for therapists; Therapy to Go: Gourmet Fast Food Handouts for working with Adult Clients and Therapy to Go: Gourmet Fast Food Handouts for working with Child and Family Clients. Clare discovered EFT in 2008 and became a certified EFT therapist and then an EFT supervisor, assisting in the growth of countless EFT therapists since 2012. In 2020, the International Centre for Excellent in EFT accepted Clare as an EFT Trainer after being mentored, shaped and inspired by Dr Kathryn Rheem (USA), Dr Veronica Kallos-Lilly (CANADA) and Dr Jennifer Fitzgerald (AUS). Clare has provided training for therapists both nationally and internationally (Brisbane, Melbourne, New York, Rome, Athens, Vancouver, Washington DC, and Singapore) on topics such as, the EFT model, boundary violations in monogamous relationships, pornography and sexual dysfunction. Clare provides group and individual EFT supervision for therapists in Australia and throughout the world.

Clare has a busy practice providing one-person and relationship therapy, assisting people to reconnect with those who matter most and build stronger and more secure bonds. Dovetailing with her love of EFT, Clare has an interest in sexual therapy, helping people to improve their sexual confidence and connection. She finds working with relationships within the EFT framework to be the most satisfying and rewarding work of her career. Clare believes in the power of attachment and connection in all relationships; whether dyadic, polyamorous, monogamous or consensually non-monogamous and the unique people who make them what they are; whether hetero, LGBTIQ+, cis, trans, gender non-conforming - all beautiful humans. She is deeply respectful of the cultural context in which people live, love and grow and priorisises this in her therapeutic work as she commits to being anti-racist, knowing that this work is never completed. Relationships and connection are Clare's passion. She witnesses again and again that attachment is in-built and vital to us all and that we do our best when we are securely attached to those who matter most to us in our world.

Along with Jenny, Clare mentors the ACEFT team and continues to grow in her love of EFT, attachment and human connection.
