Jenny is a counsellor and psychotherapist with a focus on working with clients who are experiencing life transitions whether related to relationship or individual challenges.
Prior to starting her counselling career, Jenny worked in a range of corporate human resource roles, concentrating more recently in career transition. Recognising that work is only one aspect of our lives, Jenny pursued her Master of Counselling at the University of Queensland, to be able to provide a wholistic, person centred and strengths-based approach to helping individuals, couples and families who are experiencing difficulties navigating life events.
After being introduced to Emotionally Focussed Therapy (EFT) as part of her studies, Jenny realised the value that it brought to working with clients in distress. Jenny has been developing her skills in EFT through training and ongoing supervision and is working toward certification in EFT.
As a therapist, Jenny is guided by the principles of acceptance, safety, unconditional positive regard and empathy. She works with each client to develop a way forward unique to their situation and aims to create a collaborative environment. Comfortable working with clients from diverse backgrounds, Jenny sees clients from a wide spectrum of cultural, gender, sexuality and relationship type.
